Pokrivanje kompostnega kupa pred zimo – s ciljem pridobivanja odličnega komposta / Covering the compost pile before winter – with the goal of obtaining excellent compost

SI   Skrajni čas za pokrivanje kompostnih kupov s hmeljevino, da jih čez zimo zavarujemo pred dežjem in snegom, da bodo lahko v miru zoreli.  Zorenje je bistveni del procesa kompostiranja in ponuja možnost neposredne uporabe komposta v aprilu. Ko se temperatura v kupu začne zniževati in pade pod 45 stopinj, prenehamo z obračanjem kompostnega kupa in ga pokrijemo s polprepustno membrano. To je običajno v novembru. Zakaj sedaj? EN   It’s high time to cover compost piles with hop waste biomass to protect it over the winter, so the compost can mature undisturbed. Maturation is a crucial part of the composting process and enables the compost to be ready for direct use in April next year. When the temperature in the pile starts to drop and falls below 45°C, we stop turning the compost and cover it with a semi-permeable membrane. This usually happens in November.
